When We Are Closed
During the week from 18:30 in the evening to 08:00 the following morning and at weekends and bank Holiday there is an emergency doctor service available. Lincolnshire Primary Care trust is responsible for commissioning this service and patients could be seen by any GP.
The service can be contacted on: - 111 (new free number for 2011)
Patients should only ring this number for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the next to be treated. The service is located at the Primary Care Out of Hours Emergency Service (adjacent to A & E, Lincoln County Hospital).
If you dial the normal practice number 01522 500240 you will hear a recorder message asking you to dial 111. IF FOR ANY REASON THIS SYSTEM FAILS and you are unable to contact the doctor and the emergency persists, then ring 999 without delay.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
